Paint protection film (PPF) is a protective film applied over a car’s paint. Clear PPF helps protect the paint against everyday hazards such as stone chips and light surface scratches without changing the car’s colour; matte and coloured options are also available. At Royal Class Garage, PPF is applied at our workshop in Bornova, Izmir, using Throne Gard films. Coverage can range from selected areas such as the front bumper and bonnet to the whole car, and is decided together during the inspection.

Paint protection film
PPF is a protective film laid over the paint surface as a thin layer; it is most commonly clear. It helps protect the paint against the stone chips and light scratches you come across in everyday driving. Before installation, the surface is cleaned and prepared, and the film is fitted to follow the car’s lines. You can have just the impact-prone areas covered, or the whole car. Gloss, matte and coloured films are available; we plan the coverage and film type together, based on your car’s condition and what you expect.

Material
We use Throne Gard films for our PPF work. The choice of film and the coverage are decided together during the inspection, based on your car.
Accident video
We removed the Throne Gard PPF from a Mercedes C-Class whose whole side was damaged in an accident, with the customer present; there was no damage to the paint under the film. After paintless dent repair, the car was covered with Throne Gard PPF again.

Throne Gard PRECUT
With Throne Gard PRECUT we use the car’s panel patterns and cut the film on a machine before installation. We move preparation off the car’s surface and into a digital pattern and cutting process.
We install without removing parts from the car. We check the fit at panels and edges throughout the installation.
The film is prepared in advance to its digital pattern. We do not cut freehand with a blade on the car.

The work is reviewed and the car is handed back.
