What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)?

PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a highly transparent TPU film layer applied over your vehicle’s original paintwork to provide added protection. This film is designed to shield your car against impacts, stone chips, light scratches, bird droppings and chemical effects experienced under road conditions. Each vehicle part, the hours of application, and the technician’s name, surname and signature are digitally recorded in our database. This enables retrospective checks and traceable operations. With PreCut technology, PPF is machine-cut specifically for your car before installation. Application is carried out without removing parts or making freehand cuts (knife, blade) on the car, preventing any damage to your car’s original surface and ensuring perfect fit. With Throne Gard PRECUT we use the car’s panel patterns and cut the film on a machine before installation. We install without removing parts from the car. We do not cut freehand with a blade on the car.

Which Surfaces Can PPF Be Applied To?

PPF can be applied to many exterior areas prone to impacts or friction, including:

• Door edges, handles and sills
• Boot lid and rear bumper
• Roof
• Headlights (depending on suitable product and model)

You may choose to protect only the highly exposed front areas, or cover the entire vehicle. Thanks to digital templates tailored to each surface, you receive both aesthetic and functional protection—even in detail spots.

PPF is also suitable for use on wheels, piano black trims, plastic, matte or gloss surfaces, interior door edges and, where necessary, other supporting panels. For local protection, PPF may even be used on interior trim areas that are exposed to friction.

After application, you receive a personalised warranty card and a digital record is created. Product, application date, service information and warranty details may be checked at any time. The Throne Gard warranty card comes with your car’s film installation record and the warranty lookup process. It gives you a record you can turn to after handover, too. Using your warranty card number, you can view your product and warranty details on the online lookup screen. On the digital record screen you can see the product applied, the warranty start and end dates, the parts treated and the branch that carried out the work. Since the original paintwork is preserved under the PPF, the warranty can be transferred to a new owner in the event of a sale, ensuring continued documented benefits. When the car is sold, the warranty is passed to the new owner through a transfer. We call the new buyer, let them know their warranty continues and invite them in for support.
